BOIL To Perform At SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL As One Of 'Nordic Challenge' Winners
March 1, 2008Danish progressive metal/rock band BOIL has been chosen to represent Denmark at this year's Sweden Rock Festival as one of four winners of the "Nordic Challenge" contest. 2,500 acts took part in the competition and the winners were selected by a jury consisting of MySpace users, the staff of the Sweden Rock Festival, Sweden Rock magazine and other "celebrity" voters.
BOIL released its new single, "Clarity" last month. Mixed by the band and mastered by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, MERCENARY, THE BURNING),the single includes two brand new songs — "Clarity" and "Hypersomnia" — from the acclaimed five-piece band from Aarhus, Denmark.
Both songs can be downloaded at the band's MySpace page.
According to a press release, "the single shows the band from a new and more focused and personal angle — but with their well-known love for catchy melodies centered around intricate musical structures intact."
With Jacob Løbner and Brian Stilling joining BOIL's ranks back in late 2007, the release of "Clarity" can be seen as the start of a new and improved BOIL that "stops for no one," according to the press release.
BOIL's debut CD, "Vessel", was released in January 2007 and earned the band a nomination at Danish Metal Awards 2007 for "Best Debut Album."
